The Court of Protection
The Court of Protection was established to protect the assets of those without the mental capacity to make their own decisions. If a member or your family loses mental capacity then unless they have appointed an attorney under an Enduring or Lasting Power the only way to make decisions for them is by way of an application to the Court of Protection.
As Court of Protection Solicitors we are experienced in making applications to the Court. This can include:-
- Appointment of a Deputy
- Permission to sell a property
- Permission to make gifts
- Making a statutory Will
- Inheritance Tax Planning
- Specific issues application
