If you are a customer of HSBC and have made a Will with them you may have received a letter advising that HSBC will no longer be able to act in that role.  HSBC has sold its probate business to Simplify Channel Ltd and if you have received documentation about that Company you should contact a solicitor for advice.  HSBC customers are free to approach whoever they want as executors and they do not have to approach Simplify.

The role of executor is very important.  It will certainly be worth exploring other options such as a family member, reliable friend or a professional person who knows about them and their circumstances.
